SOUTHPORT, N.C. -- Organizers said the largest Fourth of July parade in the state will not be affected by film crews.

Production on the Nicholas Sparks adaptation of "Safe Haven" has begun in Southport and plans are set for crews to film on the day of the parade.

Festival committee members said while they initially thought special arrangements would be in order. Parade goers should not notice a big change.

They expect talent and crew to total less than 10 people on July 4.

"They will be filming part of the parade. Then, what they'll do, sometime, maybe July or August, they are going to film their own parade. They can control it better. And then they will splice in parts of our parade," said Bob Krasnow, Chairman for the 4th of July Festival.

The 4th of July parade will begin at the intersection of Rhett and E. Moore streets at 11 a.m.
