Industry officials: Samsung Galaxy Note III with 5.7 inch display will be announced at IFA 2013
Last we heard, the new Note was expected to be announced on September 4, during a pre-IFA 2013 Samsung Unpacked event.
Now, in an article talking about how the introduction of LTE Advanced spurs the "phablet war", The Korea Herald mentions the following: unnamed ?industry officials? have it that the Note III will indeed be announced at IFA 2013 in Berlin, and it's going to have a 5.7 inch display. This screen size has been previously tipped by EVleaks (which is almost always right).
The Galaxy Note III will obviously feature LTE Advanced connectivity. The world's first LTE-A handset is an upgraded version of Samsung's Galaxy S4, and is already available in South Korea.
LG - Samsung's main Korean rival - will introduce a new large LTE-A handset, too: the Optimus G2. This should sport a 5.5 (or 5.2, according to some sources) display, and will most likely be announced in August.
Apple is also expected to make its next-generation iPhones LTE-A-ready, starting with the iPhone 5S that should be released this fall. While the iPhone 5S will not be as large as the Note III or the Optimus G2, new iPhone models (scheduled for 2014 and beyond) might be.
