Couple's bid to make Ealing takeaways healthy - Ealing Gazette

Ziad Haddad owns Tiano pasta restaurant on Haven Green, Ealing and prides itself on its healthy pasta dishes.

A HEALTH-CONSCIOUS couple are hoping to break into the ?fight fast food? market by offering healthy alternatives to the fatty snacks which many on the move rely on.

Cecile and Ziad Haddad opened their restaurant, Ti Amo Pasta, meaning I love pasta, in January, and it is already proving popular.

With a lifelong background in the food industry, most recently running a grocery store, Ziad believes they have spotted a gap in the market.

Born and raised in France, Cecile said: ?The concept is very popular where I?m from but not yet in Britain. It?s something different and I like being different. I think people will like us because were not like ordinary takeaways.?

The mother of two, who moved here from France 15 years ago, said seeing fresh food cooked in front of them and the pleasant atmosphere created by music and lighting will appeal to customers who want to pop in for a healthy break.

She says she loves the job, adding: ?I enjoy making new relationships between us and the customers. And I think it?s important families feel welcome here too. We have a toddlers? play area so mums can relax and have a drink.?

The couple hope the idea will take off so they can expand and maybe develop a chain or franchise.

Cecile added: ?People get fed up with fried chicken, sandwiches and burgers. It?s about time to give something new to people, something healthy. I think it?s what people want.?
