Kimi Raikkonen believes there is more to come from Lotus updates ? Formula 1 news

Lotus driver Kimi Raikkonen believes there is more to come from their updates after claiming his first victory of the 2012 Formula 1 season in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix held at Yas Marina Circuit during the last weekend.

Raikkonen performed tremendously well in the last race and finally scored his first victory after his comeback with the Enstone based team this year. Even though, he didn?t express much confidence on the updates after the Korean GP, but he really admired the team efforts after the preceding race and felt happy with the car?s pace.

The Finnish driver has recently renewed his contract with the British team for the next season and is positively looking forward to perform well in the remainder of the season so as to attain competitive result for his team.

Furthermore, he said that they will hopefully come up even stronger in the final two races of the ongoing season after winning the Abu Dhabi GP.

?It's a pretty good to show that everyone's made the right choice,? Raikkonen said. ?We've shown all season how good we can be, and in Abu Dhabi we showed we can win. There is more to come. I promise.?

?We had a period where new developments for the car weren't working exactly as we wanted straight away and when you have to test new parts during practice sessions, it's very difficult to make progress. We continued with the exhaust developments we made during practice in Korea and India and the pace was promising all weekend in Abu Dhabi,? the Finn added.

In addition, he said that they have not been able to secure higher grid slots in the season so far. Therefore, he insisted that they still need to make some essential advancement to improve their qualifying pace in order to get good results in the races ahead.

Besides, he said that he is targeting to score competitive points in the United States Grand Prix which is going to be held at Circuit of The Americas next weekend and is feeling really excited about racing on a new track in the calendar.
